I'll decline that trade, Chuck.

At least we have the glory of the BBC Test Match Special team on the radio. Even my wife can listen to them, and she hates cricket. Perhaps there's something about slow-paced games that better lends themselves to audio description - I learned baseball from scrath listening to radio commentary late at night on dodgy reception from the US Armed Forces Network out of Hamburg (I think). The commentators managed to convey the action and atmosphere very well. No adverts either, of course; the gaps were filled by the studio announcer rounding up the action elsewhere.

I'll return the favour by commending, when summer rolls round, the BBC's cricket commentary to you as an educational experience in atmospheric and knowledgable broadcasting. These days you should be able to get it online.
