There is a way to eliminate the blot in the inner board: 3/2 3/1. That play might be okay if Blue had better timing or had more builders in the zone. As things stand, Blue is out of time. He cannot worry about his blot. He must escape immediately.

With that in mind, I start by playing 24/23. That diversifies Blue's escaping numbers, giving 4, 5, and 6 as running numbers. After that, the best deuce is 3/1, allowing Blue to hold onto a five-point board.

e (each) = 24/23, 3/1
