We have had this question before but I will answer again.

Similar skill level is intentional and important to success:

This is not a teacher student relationship. This is a group of peers.

- An open class player would not get anything out of our discussions other than a headache and a beginner would drag the study group down to his level or not get best value from our discussion and be an observer rather than a participant. We are a "study" group with similar skills and objectives. The members are studying the material and working through it as a group. This is not a classroom or a webcast. This means that the material we choose and discussion we have are relevant and productive for our needs.
