You are wrong in everything you stated.Similar skill level is NOT important to success.A beginner can learn just as much as an advanced or intermediate player in a group setting. All the groups I have been in did not have specific skill levels and everyone participated without any problem of understanding everything and learning whatever was discussed in the group. If you are a study group your purpose should be to help everyone who wishes to improve their game no matter the PR or whatever. If it is not a classroom to learn what is the objective? I have no clue on the purpose of your group except to go through exercises with no real learning process. At any rate I do not think that your study group has any real value but that is my own opinion.I gave you suggestions and ideas but that is all I care to give as I do not wish to have anything more to do with it.It certainly is not the right idea for a backgammon study group.
