I missed this play in LA/still not sure

Okay, I am not a complete fool. I did think about an aggressive bearoff, and know that it often correct in situations like this. The point is, if you do take a checker off and leave a blot, why leave the blot on the 6 point? Why not the 3, 4, or 5?

Yes, I know there are more repeat shots than on the 6, but you also contain the player better.

I also know that when you see a position like this, there is a quiz factor. I don't doubt that players like Koca and Kazaross etc. are very likely to find the right play over the board...their record and PR's prove they usually find the right play. And I appreciate their input. But I was interested in why this particular play of leaving the blot even if you did decide to leave a blot. Over the board, of course I got it wrong...I clearned the 6 point.
