Tough to get an accurate pipcount with those delay settings.

Lots would disagree. I'd say most of the best players in the world have a general idea about the pip count of a position simply by looking at the overall position. (Kit Woolsey) After that, if it's so important, it's not that hard to keep a running pip count from the start of a game so that you always have a pip count. If you can do neither of those there are many players that can do a pip count in 3 seconds. (or less)
