It is certainly tempting not to hit here. We don't really mind too much about getting hit back, especially if it means that our opponent has to break the mid to do so. When it works we have a nice distribution of numbers that make an additional point in front of his back checkers or worst case makes the anchor. The big problem that I see with not hitting is that it leaves our opponent too much opportunity to make his board even stronger and make any future hits even more powerful. Even with 3 blots and 5 checkers back I am hitting.
