Let's say that with 7 point matches, you're starting with 14 minutes of reserve time. Then I would say that the 14 comes from 7-away, 7-away. So if you start at 3-away, 6-away, you would give both players 9 minutes.

That's one way of doing it.

And that's how much reserve time ABT Clock Rule 2.1 would give both players in Jason's example. At X-away Y-away, for any X and Y, reserve time for each player equals X+Y.
