two-way holding (anchor) game

I'm in vanilla mode today. Although 7(2) gives Blue a chance to make a 5-prime while duplicating White's 6's, consider:
1) When Blue subsequently fails to make the 8-point he actually traded for a worse point. The 8-point better blocks White's anchor than the 7-point.
2) More importantly, Blue's anchor being higher and White's block being weaker means Blue's GP is probably to run off the anchor and wait for White to try the same. I.e. the race lead (pipcount lead) is not likely to translate to Blue staying back. Is Blue really going to get to hit White's checkers already on White's side?
3) White is going to be desperate to run off the anchor and hitting with tempo makes that easier. So if Blue leaves the blot and White rolls a 5 I think he should just hit and hope Blue misses. White isn't likely to get too many chances to escape, other than {44,66} doublets if Blue just plays safe.
(bland) 11/6
