Here's the reality...

95% of the people can't afford to "go green". Tell a homeowner who barely has the income to keep his family fed and housed that he needs to install a $10k solar system on his house AND still use electricity when the solar cells don't get him enough juice AND perform annual maintenance on both systems. That guy will laugh you right out of his house. Every single hybrid car costs more than it's non-hybrid counterpart AND you still need to put fuel into them, it's not like you are getting away from the gas pumps entirely. And buying carbon credits? Are you shitting me??? Seriously, ask the Catholic Church how well selling indulgences went for them. When any of the potential "solutions" make financial sense, only then will they be acceptable.
