Heh. I might have said, instead, that I wouldn't care much if all you had said was "global warming is happening or "isn't happening." I'd care a little more, knowing you to be a conscientious citizen and scientist, although not a climatologist, if you said "I've read up on it and global warming is real problem." If it wasn't an important issue, that might be enough for me. What you did say was: here's the evidence; here's what the experts say; please go and read it. That's a thought I do very much appreciate.

Except that he said "read the Scientific American article".

The July 2007 article? Read it. Worth reading. As is the New Scientist "Climate Myths" that you linked to. Along with at least the summmaries and pretty graphs of the IPCC reports.

The point is that none of us needs to be an expert in a field in order to understand it at a moderate level.
