Too harsh IMO. If a player is trying to angle shoot by making intentionally illegal moves (if he's low on time, or whatever), the director should take some action.

I wouldn't mind it that much, but it seems like it'd create more problems than it would solve, since illegal plays are a part of backgammon and don't interrupt the flow of the game as much as picking up dice on the opponent's time would.
