Phil, another thing I meant to point out is that while everyone probably hopes to win money, shouettes are also a source of fun -- and a lot of people don't find it fun to stand around saying nothing for over an hour in a 7-handed chouette waiting for their turn to come around. So appealing to people's financial interests may get you nowhere, or worse -- especially since only half of the players are likely to be helped financially by a non-consult rule.
