I'm looking at the Core2duo 3.0GHz (E8400) vs the Core2quad 2.5GHz (Q9300).

Bottom line is the Q9300 should be faster than the E8400 by a factor of ~1.5 (and maybe more). I guess you have to decide if that is worth $100 to you.

Is there also a 3.0GHz quad? At what price?
