Quoting Jeb Horton: "not one of our 34 best rolls." Are we really supposed to make the lame point? That gives Dillies 23 hits and doesn't even tie up a pinkie.
5/1* goes with either 13/7 or 24/18. The former gives opps 20 shots at the stale and fresh blots compared to one more if we blot in the (battle) zone. 24/18 loses less in the race when return hit and gives us some 5's to enter and hit back. It also leaves a total of three blots instead of four.
Assuming 5/1* (which I am), clearly 24/18 is more defensive while 13/7 is more offensive. Either a defendable offensive position or defendable defensive position gives us a game. The situation to avoid is having neither. One less blot is good in either case, and fewer pip-loss when things go awry is as well. Throw in the fact that if things go well we'd rather make the 18-point than the 7-point and I'm going with...
5/1*, 24/18
