what about not resigning at all?

By the same token, I think it is good sportsmanship to actually play that 62 and show that you are bearing a checker off before resigning a single game. Everyone knows what the play is going to be, but you should still do it. It is the difference between your opponent conceding a tap-in in golf, and you attempting to claim the tap-in for yourself.
I do think it is poor form to insist that your opponent play out a gin position merely for the sake of transcription. Many players would be reasonably annoyed if they are getting unavoidably gammoned and the opponent tries to insist that they make 5 or 10 additional plays. As I think Stick implied, if the equity difference is truly 0.00 then it is just as easy for the transcriber to enter a bunch of made-up 66 rolls. I hate to think of my reaction as a director if someone called me over because they did not want to accept a resignation in a gin position, but I'm pretty sure I know what my ruling would be.
