Memorizing backgammon positions

To me that doesn't really capture what players mean when they talk of memorizing 3rd roll positions. I would formulate the contest more like this:
Director prepares a deck of cards (2 actually) containing all the 3rd roll positions. Each card has a picture of the position, nactation of the position, and the correct play. Contestants are given sufficient study time to memorize the cards. On Contest Day, director gives each contestant a shuffled deck of cards that doesn't have the answers. The contestant goes through the deck as quickly as he can and provides the correct play for each position. A contestant's final score = (#errors + 1) * time. The goal is to get a low score.
