I would say that it is best not to do anything different. Use the cube. If they double, just explain to them if you think it is OK or it is wrong.
My main suggestion is: If you reach a winning position (around 75% w. chances), then at that point double, make them take (some explanation).
Then, flip the board and defend the losing side. Let the kid play to a finish until he wins (maybe there will be more than one side flip!!).
Also: Use a clock!! From the start.
