Many of Blue's wins require that he play a containment game, something we know the bot does poorly. I think that explains why your rollout result is so different from the XGR++ eval.

My experience is that increasing the search interval, as you have done, is an important part of rolling out containment positions (and many backgames, as well). Increasing the number of plies will also help, but increasing the search interval is perhaps more important.
