This change in the rules is very good.
I am of the opinion that no person, but especially no Grandmaster, should ever refuse to be streamed.
I can *almost* understand the "unknown" player, who might play a 12, feeling some shame about that, but Grandmasters have no excuse.
They should be walking into the arena like proud Gladiators with their PRs as their weapon. Let the games begin!!This goes for all players, not just open players.
And my opinion on this has nothing to do with my having been a streamer in the past.
If anybody ever asked me to be streamed, I would jump at the chance.
Having your match streamed/recorded, and then transcribed, is an honor and a privilege, not some favor you are doing for "us".
Quite the reverse.Rick, I think you should go one step further.
"Any Grandmaster who refuses to be streamed will have their title edited to "granniemaster"
for an unspecified period of time or until they start behaving like a true Grandmaster."M
