Among other learning techniques it is important to play strong matches vs serious opponents. It is better to play vs real opponent than playing bot in my opinion. At least you can't cheat :-) I can recommend you FIBS league where you can play in organized form about 12 matches in two months. You can subscribe here: http://fibsleagammon.free.fr After that you should analyze your matches and make some comments during a match. Rollouts are wellcome which depend of your CPU time bcuz bots also make some errors from time to time like all players in the world. And also try with all available books, free articles from Tom Keith's site http://www.bkgm.com/articles/index.html You can also subscribe on Gammon Village which is valuable source of world class matches and other articles. But you can also find free matches here: http://www.hardyhuebener.de/engl/matches.html
