How do you respond to the criticism that one shouldn't be able to buy a better chance of winning the ABT?

So, that's also an argument for disallowing Re-Buys as well, right?

I like Phil's suggestion of equity-equalizing byes in some way, at least for 'Main' or premium events. It seems almost mandatory in a Masters Jackpot event where you might have say 10 players buying in at $1000 each -- having two guys get immediately stuck for what amounts to around $500 worth of lost equity out of a hat just feels wrong. The larger the entry fee and the smaller the number of players, the more some sort of equalization-scheme seems sensible. Auctioning buys makes a certain sense.
