I agree completely...computers can be a fun and interesting addition to augment the viewing experience.

Picture watching the Super Bowl, and it's 4th and 5 on the 38 yard line. There are 6 minutes left in the game and you are down by 6. Before the viewers see if the team is going to punt, go for a field goal, or go for a first down, it would be fun to see what Zeus (a football computer program created by Chuck Bower and Frank Frigo) says which decision is best.

Could it be that a fake field goal would have the best odds of winning the game, with a punt being the second best choice by 15 percent? The computer knows the strength of the field goal kicker, the strength of both teams etc. Could make the game much more interesting.

Let's say we are watching Falafel double Mochy, and before Mochy makes his decision, the game is paused and the viewers get to decide if they would take or pass; then we see what XG says, and then we see what Mochy does. That would be fun, and of course, if it is a really interesting position, it would also be fun and educational to hear an expert explain why it was a pass or take and show a variation that might change the decision.
