The final two candidates for me are making the 18-point and hitting 23/14*. Typically the 18-point is better than the 22-point, and if that were the only consideration this wouldn't be a problem for me. (Of course I understand sometimes play 'c' is best in which case it's a BIG problem.)

Hitting has more immediate upside, and looks less vulnerable. When well ahead in the race the 18-point is often a liability. Even with the pipcount lead, though, this is going to be difficult to turn into a race soon. Still, I can fall back on "when in doubt..." axiom and blame that if I'm wrong.
