Bear in Problem

I saw this subject line, and brought my toolbox along thinking there might be a bear caught in a trap or something. But I didn't find a bear, and neither did several other posters. I hope he or she is OK now.

But regarding this problem, I think QF is helping, though it also helps that I've seen plays like this before. Certainly clearing both the 9 and 8 points with the bar point missing could turn out to be...a bear? It also rates to take more turns to do that than to clear the 11 point, meaning that the opponent will get more game-time to strengthen his front position. I vote with the others, clear the 8 and 9 right now and worry about the 11 point next time.
