Even though I like basketball much more I'll know more about the baseball rules. I was way into it in my younger days but now just find it boring. I think the only thing that makes sense is for the shot not to count and for it to be a dead ball. Otherwise could do a bounce pass to a teammate in a situation where you need two points instead of one.

Here is a basketabll one that is somewhat related: Suppose there is a full court desperation heave taken just before the shot clock and/or game clock reach 0. While in the air time expires. The ball then bounces on the court near the basket and then goes in. Count it? As a 3?

And here is one more not so related. I catch the ball while straddling the 3 point line. My left foot is outside of it and mt right foot is inside of it. If I lift my right foot and shoot is a make a 3 pointer? My guess is no.
