Proper backgame technique?

Of that actual position, obviously. I'd never even think of using GNU to roll out a backgame. I'm speaking of rollouts in general, as I thought Dave was. As in my opening move rollouts - how much of an effect will GNU's total debauchery of playing severe backgames have? Somewhere close to zippidity do da I'm guessing.
