Bear-In Problem

This is a very interesting problem (to me) as both plays have their own merit. The straightforward 9/2 follows my favorite method, the KISS method. When in doubt, this is what I follow. The only conceivable drawback of this play is the upside of the other play.
By not covering the two point we allow our opponent to come in faster and in all likelyhood crash. A couple of you have expressed concern about double aces - I could really give a shit. Sure, it's White's best number, but even White's best number leaves him in a lost game. In that case, I think it's definitely worth considering not making the point. I don't want White to make my 2pt, but I don't mind him bringing one checker in there, hitting me, giving me more timing, and allowing him to come in and kill checkers. In the scenarios where he does make the 2pt he'll often have to give it up with the first 6 that comes out of the cup so no harm no foul.
When all is said & done I don't know in which case I KISS - but if my doubles partner wanted to make the other play I'd make it without fuss.
