I stated that our leadership has not sone what it can to promote the game and many others have offered to help and offered excellent ideas.
Here you see the response from the recent President of the USBGF and a member of the Board, the Treasurer of the USBGF.
Does anyone have any more questions about why we have not been more progressive about growing the game?
EVEN IF all of Bill's suspicions and feelings sbout my personal motives are correct, how does it serve the game or the organization to attack me personally, publicly, instead of privately?
And what about anyine who argues against the person as opposed to arguing the principles. It would be valid to disagree with any of my suggestions, but to attack me personally instead is specious.
Why does Bill have it out dor me? Because after being a founder of the USBGF and chairman of two committees, teaching Pro, and after donating hundreds of hours of my time to help grow the organization, I resigned all activies after Bill became president as I could not condone and support all of the horrible things Bill Riles was doing to hurt individuals and the game, as well as all the things he would not support that would grow the game.
And for over two yesrs I never once publicly stated my grievances against Bill. Until now. And in the meantime I have quietly taken continued abuse from Bill and stayed passive as I knew some day he would be gone and I could again support the wonderful organization I believe can help grow the game snd represent the players of the game well. But now that he's no longer president, he still wont shut up and go away or at least keep his and all dirty laundry out of the public, for the good of the game and out of courtesy to all.
We don't have to agree on everything to be friends and work together. But that is not true with Bill. If you disagree with anything he wants, you are his enemy.
I do not want a fight with him or anyone. Publicly or privately. But I will certainly defend myself from bulkies and nasty attacks. And sfter two years of his continued badgering and abuse, I can no longer remain quiet.
Do you wonder why so little has been done by our leadership to grow the game? Just read Bill Riles' posts on this forum and on his fscebook page.
I rest my case.
I am much more optimistic about the new leadership, however, and even if they sont agree with my (and other's) ideas, they dont fight and attack the very people who are willing to work hard to help. In fact, they dont attack anybody. How does that help grow the game? How does that make the backgammon community a bettwr place for any of us?
