This also illustrates my feelings about a needed rule change

I have always believed that at -2 -2 the Crawford Rule should be activated for the rest of the match.
As your illustration and many other discussions point out, the cube is almost always turned and taken when there are good players and we have DMP.
Just think about how much more interesting and complex and exciting the rest of the match would be if the cube were frozen?
The first game a gammon would be a huge win for both sides; and the send game is gg and gs, and the third game, if needed, is DMP.
What a variety of situations for checker play! This is what we want...a game that is more interesting and complex.
The ONLY good argument I have heard against this idea is that it does make the match longer. I agree that is true. Is that bad? Only if there are time constraints.
I argue that a 7 point match with this rule would probably take about as long, on average, as standard 9 point matches. And again, this would be a better match.
This is a rule change, like the Crawford Rule, that is a great improvement to the game. Why not do it?
Because people resist change, and many who play the game think it is already difficult enough and would like to have more of a luck factor decide the game.
Poor reasons in my opinion.
