I see no disconnect between wanting to have clear, consistent, good rules for the game of backgammon throughout the world, and wanting to have fun and interesting variations to play as side events and outside of major tournaments.

By the way, I also believe we should have good rules for backgammon, and I also like to play gin rummy. Is there an inconsistency there?

Attacking or arguing against the person, and not the issues, is a specious, and is far too often done here and should not be condoned. In my discussion about the rules, I was careful not to name names or point out individuals with personal agendas or all kinds of statements how some people might be the reasons for this problem or that, but only discussed the issues. I ask you, and others, to do the same.
