streaming with remote commentary

The issue to overcome is latency. For example, we could add a remote Skype audio feed (or multiple feeds) to any live stream, however, the point in time that the commentators would be viewing any given position (remember that they are viewing on their PC what the public is viewing via the live stream from the tournament room) would potentially vary by as many as 15 seconds to 1 minute, causing the commentary to lag behind the actual real-time play being made. One option to avoid any lag would be to have the commentator "stream the live stream" along with his or her commentary. This could be done from anywhere in the world as long as the commentator knew how to stream their display and added in their audio.
This is not unlike how it is done at Monte Carlo. We run two streams. One without commentary, and one which is a broadcast of the first stream with a second audio feed coming from microphones at the commentary table. That broadcast has a very short delay of about 15 seconds as compared to the real-time match play, but enough to be noticeable.
I am working on some other options, such as screen sharing programs and checking out FTL (Faster Than Light Streaming Protocol) offered by Mixer, but I have not tested anything yet.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know and I would be happy to try them.
