That's right. But the defence has powered up over the years. Legion of boom. Cam Newton downplayed in SB. It isn't just to settle with the rules between offence and defence. It is, at first the health of the players. I we agree in rules, that promote concussion ore even more, we are instantly in the circus maximus, first imperium. Flacco didn't slide enough. Wilson got this better, he is also a baseball guy. But this couldn't be an argument. Flacco was down, head and neck even more vulnerable, because there was no more tackling in a 'seahawks stile', getting the head out, bringing the shoulder in, tackle the body. Kiko tackled with full intent on a defenceless player. Shure, you can even argue, that this was within the rules.

But it is ugly. NFL has changed the rules very often. This use of matter and energy is no sport, in my eyes. And it destroys the heart of the franchise, the QB. To see good defence play is also exiting. But there is a line between hardness and severity. If the defence is biased, then for all teams.

If there is no chance, to set a clean hit, then for me the defender is responsible, even if the time is short, to recognize. 0.2 seconds divide for a pocket which stands, and which is busted. So is American Football. But I don't want to see after half a season pure defence battles, because the heart of the game is torn out. I had a busted collarbone, 8 screws and a plate. I think, the Aaron Rodgers, as we knowed him, is done. Ray Lewis is fine, but a rolling QB, fullspeed passing a nice backshoulder pass also. And if the ball is away, there is nothing to repair with a hit, but taking the QB out of play per injury.
