The answer is obvious - try to follow the strategy, that Bob proposed, and you lose not only money for the first 7 (unlucky as you supposing!) games, but for last 8th game too and much more, because of high level of cube.
In case you will be VERY LUCKY and win in this last 8th game it'll bring you unfortunately NOTHING (sorry, MONEY for this game 100% - no discussion!) with the idea to win the whole competition, because the results you achieved in all games are compared with the results of another participants in each game independent from another games.
Total result of all 8 games is calculated according to the places you achieved in each game with special scoring system used by bridge competitions => player receives two points for each result less than his own and one point for the each equal.
To become this information you don't need to buy my book - simple download description of tables => http://fairbg.ning.com/forum/attachment/download?id=3548299%3AUploadedFile%3A36427
and demo(test) results => http://fairbg.ning.com/forum/attachment/download?id=3548299%3AUploadedFile%3A36523
After that if you want to know MORE about this idea and what I mean under "FAIR BACKGAMMON TOURNAMENT RULES" you have the possibility to buy my book too.
Maik, you are welcome to take part in this historical competition too.
