Suppose that you are being doubled in a no gammon position with the cube on 4 and it is a clear pass for a real money game. But in this format the risk and reward here are not 4 and 8 but rather the places you would drop from going from a score of -4 to -8 compared to places you would gain going from a score of -4 to +8. Suppose there are 16 players. Since a score of -4 likely places you already very low the risk reward is greatly skewed to taking that cube. It might even be right to make a suboptimal play to induce the recube.
