Cube Aid is certainly not the definitive article and indeed never a finished project. It does a good job on middle games. Obviously if one feature " is nearly the entire importance of the position" one would not be using Cube Aid, but roll odds or timing or whatever else.

The reason I reintroduced the subject was on account that Mr Olsen over a period of time was obviously researching a similar approach to aid cube decisions. Apparently his standard of play improved. It may be that his research had no contribution to this improvement. I analysed many games using the numbers. It produced a cognition effect in me. I just look at positions and have a good understanding of them at a glance (sorry) whether it be a cube or checker play. My problem solving abilities certainly improved. I see this as a short cut to some playing experience but of course will never replace it. It may be that the real value of doing the numbers in Cube Aid is the cognition effect it may have on positions.

Get your head round roll odds and duplication that will surely improve ones play.
