It is twice as hard to win a tournament when there are twice as many players so instead of making n equal the log base 2 of the entrants having it scale linearly seems better. Winning the conso and getting 2nd in main are about equivalent. They both lost one game.

With n = number of participants, let winner get n/2 and runner up and conso winner each get n/4. For a larger number of participants (maybe > 16 or maybe > 8) you might want to give some points to the conso runner up also. 4n/9, 2n/9, 2n/9, n/9 works then.

Note that this is basically how the ABT points are done.
