Personally, I do not care all that much if all of the matches from a tournament are transcribed.

I record and transcribe almost every live match I play. Almost. There was a time when I would take and transcribe matches from tournaments and drop them into Michelle's dropbox, but frankly, I'm not likely to do that in the future very frequently, if at all. I, like Mike said, I think, am learning a lot more from looking at my own mistakes. And with the amount of time I spend doing that, I don't have that much time to transcribe a random match from YouTube or Twitch. I DO transcribe some matches between top players, but I find that I learn a lot more by doing it myself than I do from looking through someone else's XG file. I like to watch the roll on the video, pause it and think about what I would play, watch what was played, and then enter it into XG. I rarely if ever download an XG file created by someone else. Most of the videos I watch are the ones with commentary provided by experts. Those can be quite enlightening, and I usually only turn them off when the commentators insist on eating directly into the microphone, which I find annoying as hell.

Most of the people that replied said that they were planning on transcribing their own matches. I think most top players do their own transcription or they pay someone to do it for them. But I think it's become such that expecting someone to transcribe your matches for you without any sort of compensation is unrealistic or at least uncommon.

A final thought - while I see the benefits of using computers or tablets in live play, I'd be VERY unlikely to attend a live tournament to play on a tablet. I like to roll dice. I like to move checkers. I appreciate the feel of a well made backgammon board. If I'm going to play on a touch screen, it might as well be an online tournament, as far as I'm concerned.
