It depends on the nature of the errors of the 8+ player.

Suppose player A tends to drop much too early and player B takes much too late. Normally you would double a little more conservatively when playing a weak player to keep the variance down but playing A there is a shift in the opposite direction so your cubes might be coming at the normal time. Versus B there is a double reason to delay your cubes so the practically best strategy raises the PR more than usual.
