What should the PR difference be?

I play a lot of 4-6 PR matches. Personally, I would relish a 3- PR player deciding to play less than optimally against me, based on my 'mistakes', in a particular match or not.

Local knowledge is different. E.g. My doubles partner and I played a pairs tournament recently. My partner did not want to double (Too Good), and technically I am pretty sure he was right. I said 'Double' (quietly), 'they will take', and they did. But the rating difference was probably something like PR 5 vs PR 15 in this case. And, I knew them.

Playing the best PR move/decision has a lot going for it most of the time and trying to 'adjust' is fraught with peril IMHO.
