Bill,

I agree with you and the skeptics of human-caused global warming. Seems like a big confidence game to me. I've read several articles by climatologists and other experts who think the theory is highly questionable. The reason the leftwing pols in the US support action against GW is that they furtively admire policies which make the federal government larger and more powerful and will always support these policies whenever they can feasibly do so. If a burdensome cap-and-trade-like bill becomes law and partially destroys our economy but GW later turns out to be 100% wrong, these pols will be among the least offended. The rest of us will be a lot poorer but the socialists won't care since they will have succeeded in growing the government.
