Standard -4 -2 Cube?

In this case, where the ND vs. D/T equity is essentially equal it may be fine to hold, although Bob's point is pertinent -- cubing now means you won't make a cube v. hold mistake int he future which will be *easy* to do in many spots if you don't.
But also, this principle isn't actually true in poker either. I mean it's a rule of thumb -- if you're making the opponent's action trivial, there's *usually* a better action.
But there are hand ranges where you should indeed bet for value on the last round when you expect your opponent to make a correct call decision. There are a LOT of people playing poker who do not understand that a poker bet is like a backgammon double. Just as you should generally take when behind, you should also be willing to call when behind as well -- as long as your range has pot odds against the opponent's range. But if their range is ahead of yours on the last round, failing to bet just because you will correctly call can be a big mistake, unless you are too aggressive and can be counted on to bluff. Same principal applies to made hand vs. likely good draw.
