I don't understand how it wouldn't change BMAB. To achieve the same PR thresholds with half the reserve time will be harder - for many players, anyway. For comparison with current TC settings the PR targets for each award would have to be relaxed.

From the example you gave it seems to me that your main point for having faster TC is to stop a player from taking ages over one play or cube decision, ie smoothing out the time taken over plays. Allowing a few extra seconds of delay - which many or even most players will NOT use to sit and check things - to compensate for halving reserve time looks like the way to go.

Experimenting with faster TC in lesser events, like weekly club ones, would be interesting and surely essential before wider adoption.
