I think it is great that attendance is up at events. I think it is great that clocks are now pretty much mandatory or at least preferred at every ABT tourney.

I do NOT think that time should be reduced. I think reduced time is great for side events.

I think the idea is to get even more people involved and participating. Clocks are an instrument to stop excessive slow play. I actually think spectators like a chance to think about a position and I know that when I am watching streaming.. I love to be able to try to either enter in the match live or at least look up the positions on the fly.

I am having plenty of fun at tourneys right now. I just don't see how reducing gets more people into the game.

Anyway.. the first step in general is to get the intermediate division playing with clocks and a standard obligatory time control.
