I'm sorry, but since when is tapping a checker enough to constitute it being hit?!?! I've seen players who have a 52 to play where the 2 is blocked and the 5 is oven move their checker 7 spots, tapping the made point 2 away en route to placing their checker in the legal spot. Should I stop the clock after their move and inform them that they made a legal play, and to put the checker on the same spot, but this time without tapping the point that was blocked? What if I wasn't looking at my opponent tap his checker because I was counting pips, or thinking about my next roll? Then am I just supposed to trust him that he intended on hitting that checker? This is all becoming to fucking ridiculous. Backgammon had to right when you were responsible for your own moves, now the rules are convoluted and fucked up. We have to keep creating band aid rules to suit every situation.
