Full Baffle Box Rules

"The player to the right of the baffle box goes first"

Is there a natural "right" direction of the baffle box? Someone sitting down at the table with the baffle box on his left could say that both he and the opponent are to the right of the baffle box. To avoid ambiguity I think "The player whose homeboard is opposite the baffle box goes first" is better. (If that is really what is meant, I am not quite sure).
