Clearly, you are a player who believes no one would ever try to cheat in our game. You must be campaigning for players to be able to roll from the hand (where they do in many countries) and for opaque precision dice to always have precedence over transparent, as they may be easier to read (and all players are honest). I must have missed your campaigning.

You state of BB's that you "know a lot of people dislike them". It has been expressed by some, including people as highly regarded as Michael Crane for example, that one reason is players give up the illusion of control over the outcome. Is it possible therefore (and I did state that it is only a "possible problem with such a rule") that some, despite agreeing (no doubt grudgingly) to use the box, might still hope to exercise some control?

I have an outrageous theory that - deep down at least, if not from the forefront of our minds - perhaps none of us actually want a random roll: we want a good one! (I for one don't trust my unconscious desires, and that's one reason I like to use a BB.)
