Quoting from Gammonlife about Oliver Schneider: "Some of you may remember that Oliver is also the 2005 Intermediate World Champion (Monte Carlo)"
Quoting again from Gammonlife: "Marc Bodin of France/Monaco - 2007 Intermediate World Champion."
Quoting from the California Backgammon Championship Facebook page: "A name not well-known in the U.S. and making his debut appearance is Germany’s #MICHAELURBAN, the 2017 Monte Carlo Intermediate World Champion."
Quoting from the Worcester Backgammon Club Facebook page: "A huge success to the women players. World Champion for the second time Akiko Yazawa, Intermediate World Champion and the beginners competition were all won by ladies."
And a trophy that says:
43rd World Backgammon Championship Intermediate Division Winner
It's easy to see why many people think that there is an Intermediate World Champion in backgammon. Is there a PR limit to play in the Intermediate Division at the World Championships, and would the winner be disqualified if he/she consistently played at a World Class level during the tournament?
