Isn't that true of doubles in general? (Some would say chouette too!)

I don't see why the rule can't be that EITHER player can press the clock. Bob points out an issue with the non-player pressing the clock when the move isn't finished. In a 'responsible moves' tournament the resolution is simple of course but, as 'irresponsible moves' are usually applied nowadays, that wouldn't help.
