Byes in a Swiss

"Example, if someone had a record of 3 wins and 3 loses (3-3) going into round 7 and gets a bye their record would be 4-3 but their cashing total would be 3.93 – 3.
If someone with a record of 6-3 gets a bye in round 10 their record would be 7-3 but their cashing record would be 6.90 – 3."
I extremely strongly disagree with this.
First of all let's say both players in your scenario end up with a record of 7 - 3 (including the one bye win for each). That is a tie!!!
Secondly, ironically your proposal which tries to minimize the effect of byes and luck actually increases the luck. Having one player cash higher since they would get .03 points more due to when the bye occurred actually introduces MORE luck since when the bye occurs is another random variable.
